The 'BACK TO BARDIC' Druid Camp 2008

For the 2008 camp we had a lovely selection of photographs submitted so the review is mainly in pictures.

Making Fire Morning MeetingAt the morning meeting, your hosts Mark and Bobcat let the camp know what is on offer for the day.
Usually there are at least four workshops at any time, exploring Druidry and related subjects, including wildcrafting (above left) with James Watson, Bardic Chair winners Robin Herne and Talliessin, Anglesey Druid and author Kris Hughes, and camp hosts Mark Graham and Emma Restall Orr.
Birds Fish
Each year there is a ritual put on by the whole camp: this year it was an exploration of the different languages, wisdom and stories of nature - birds, fish, reptiles, amphibian, insects, herbivores and carnivores, a different groups presenting each. It is playful, creative and at the same time devotional.
Carnivores Herbivores
Dawn Morgan We were honoured to have the dancer Dawn Morgan, teaching and sharing her beautiful movement and lines. Paul MitchellThe singer-songwriter and satirist Paul Mitchell played a set and helped with the Eisteddfod.

Rachel Gittus Band
The up and coming Rachel Gittus Band (above) played to an enchanted audience.
Seize the Day

Sian James

We also had the extraordinary harpist Sian James, celebrated protest band Seize the Day (left). Psychadelic folk, Magicfolk (below), played on Saturday night.

Magicfolk
Respected performance poet, Jade Moon, gave her a set, as did the wonderful Cornish stand-up Anna Kerl (right). The ever popular Damh the Bard played to a much appreciating audience, and Talliessin gave us some grisly folktales pertient to the harvest festival of Lughnasadh or Lammas. Anna Kerl
