Spiritual Activism and the Divine Feminine with Gillian Kavanagh

Spiritual Activism and the Divine Feminine with Gillian Kavanagh

I would like to offer a talk on Spiritual Activism and the rise of the Divine Feminine. As a member of OBOD & the British Druid Order, Warriors Call (Pagans against fracking) A Nana of Lancashire, and Anti Fracker activist, Spiritual Warrior, I would like to share with others how we can put our spirituality into action in different and more magical ways. Being on the frontline of Fracking here in Lancashire where I live, I have been working to raise consciousness with activists who may not follow a Druid Path to conduct and facilitate many ceremonies and blessings at fracking sites in Lancashire, and Yorkshire as well as counsel them. Majority of us are women, coming together to protect the land. I have been blessed with bringing others to share their blessings upon this land, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Guyto Monks from Dharamasala, and my dear good friend

JJ Middleway – The Power of Song

JJ Middleway - The Power of Song

A Druidic look at the power and value of song. Why are words like ‘Incantation’ and ‘Enchantment’ linked to both song and magic? The connection between the current neglect of the earth and largely forgotten ‘Songlines’. Stories and myth as pointers to the underlying value of song. How we might co-create a reflowering of the Land. This workshop will be a mixture of reflections and personal experience, interspersed with chants and songs helping to illustrate what is being talked about. Participants are welcome to join in the song, or simply sit and enjoy hearing and being bathed in sound.

Jos Razzell – Don’t forget your mug!!!

Jos Razzell - Don't forget your mug!!!

Jos Razzell has been telling stories at Druid Camp since…. well, since it started all those years ago. She has not once forgotten her mug (OK, well, maybe occasionally….) And once upon a time she was lucky enough to learn about storytelling from Vayu Nadu, a gifted healing storyteller from India. She has been using and passing on what she learned there ever since. running storytelling skills workshops for adults, children, and more recently for corporate leaders to help them inspire and engage the people they work with. A long-term member of Charnwood Grove, Jos tells stories as part of ceremony as well as to entertain the crowds at Grove public events. Weaving in music and song, we can use our voices and innate creativity as an offering to Spirit, as well as to play our part in drawing out the everyday magic of the world that Druids connect with

Z Z Birmingham

Z Z Birmingham

Arthur ‘Z.Z.Birmingham” Billington, bluesman & Honorary Bard of OBOD, veteran of festivals & camps all over Europe, is well known to Druid Camp regulars for his versatility, warmth & willingness to provide music at the barest hint of an opportunity. To an authentic guitar & harmonica style honed in a lifetime’s study of the blues he now adds a fund of seasonal & bardic songs drawn from thirty years’ practice of druidry. As well as providing informal entertainment as required around the Camp, he is joined for the Saturday Night gig by the formidable talents of Milton Bluesman – alto & clarinet Les Miles – djembe & Alan ‘the Bullfrog’ Hudson – djembe & cajon, whose contribution to last year’s Camp will be remembered.

The pursuit of Awen : a fire in the head, or a pain in the gulliver? Let’s take a look at the Awen together – from the roots of its true nature, preserved in tales, through to how we interpret it for the 21st century. Should we pursue it, stalk, hunt it or lie in a darkened room and hope it comes a-calling? – and how should we engage with it when we feel its presence near? Come along to share your experiences and extend your practice.

Archery Workshops

Archery Workshops

Outdoor Archery with Giles Meakin We will be doing target archery over the course of the weekend. The activity is weather permitting, as the wind on site can be quite strong which makes it very challenging to keep arrows on target (I’d like to reduce the amount of time spent hunting for arrows in long grass!).Feel free to bring your own gear, though I’d suggest keeping to lighter bows of around 20-30lbs pull as no one wants to be spending their afternoons struggling to pull arrows from targets! Any less than 20lbs, and the arrows will just bounce off the straw butt.  I’ll be providing bows and arrows for those that don’t have their own equipment. I will also be providing the target stand, butt and targets. Juniors who wish to join the Outdoor Archery will require the permission and/or supervision from their parent, or in loco parentis.  They will also
